What is eTMS –
electroencephalogram Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation

We identify & nurture where the brain has difficulty communicating.

eTMS is a highly customized use of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation or TMS, based on sophisticated diagnostics. It is a non-invasive, painless, and drug-free option for the treatment of a wide range of neurological conditions.

eTMS protocols start with a quantitative EEG or qEEG. The qEEG allows us to see patterns of dysfunction that identify varying disorders of the brain, such as learning and behavioral issues, emotional disorders, brain injury, and others. The qEEG done on each patient provides us with a map that guides each individually tailored treatment.

The equipment used for treatment with eTMS is FDA-cleared. It generates magnetic waves that allow us to gently stimulate specifically targeted areas of the brain. eTMS treatment protocols have seen some incredible success in improving conditions such as Post- Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injuries and Concussions, Depression, Anxiety, Sleep Disorders, and many more

Are you or do you know a Veteran First Responder or Law Enforcement Officer who would be a good candidate for our program?

WAY WE WORK

Our Working Process

Record EEG

We conduct an eyes-closed 10 minute quantitative electroencephalogram (q- EEG) and an electrocardiogram (EKG) tests that measure brain wave frequencies, heart rate and brain-heart coherence.

Our scientific and clinical teams analyze the results to better understand your brain state.

EEG Analysis & Review

We use a patented approach with your neurophysiological data to develop a customized treatment plan that aims to encourage healthy brain communication.

All eTMS treatment parameters are approved by a licensed neurosurgeon or physician.

Treatment

While sitting comfortably, a trained technician will position the magnetic coil on your head. This coil will deliver your individualized treatment protocol to the targeted region of the brain.

Progress Evaluation

We take sequential q-EEG and EKG recordings to monitor progress and make any necessary modifications to your treatment protocol. This ensures we’re always taking the best approach based on your current neurological state. A typical course of eTMS varies, but on average our program is 6 weeks, Monday through Friday.

Who is Eligible for eTMS?

Ohio House Bill 110 of the 134th General Assembly (OR Ohio Revised Code 5902.09) directs the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, the Ohio Department of Veterans Services and the Ohio Department of Public Safety to establish a pilot program to make electroencephalogram (EEG) combined Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (eTMS) available for Veterans, first responders, and law enforcement officers with substance use disorders, mental illness, sleep disorders, traumatic brain injuries, sexual trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder and accompanying comorbidities, concussions or other brain trauma, or other issues identified by the individual’s qualified medical practitioner as issues that would warrant treatment under the program.

Please take a moment to verify there are no conditions that would preclude treatment under this program:

  1. Current or recent (<6 months) treatment of epilepsy or clinically
    significant seizures
  2. Intracranial or spinal implant (i.e., aneurysm clips and coils placed prior to 1990, magnetic-adjusted shunts, epidural cortical stimulator, deep brain stimulator, metal stents, electrodes)
  3. Metal object within or near the head, excluding the mouth, which cannot be safely removed (i.e. metal fragments (excluding titanium), cochlear implant, non-removable hearing aids)
  4. Pacemaker, defibrillator, vagal nerve stimulator, IVC filter, Urogenital implants, any implanted electrical device
  5. Active alcohol or drug addiction.
  6. Threat of harm to self and/or others
  7. Psychotic disorder that would prevent compliance, e.g. schizophrenia
  8. Neurodegenerative disease
  9. Bipolar disorder
